Our new sermon series at church is all about The Story. To go along with it we created a stage design made from dyed bible pages! Since we also work with middle and high school students we had a large collection of older bibles, many of which were falling apart, missing pages, some even missing entire sections! We thought this would be a neat way to reuse them! We dyed each page using RIT dye and water. We painted the dye like water color and let it dry. *If you are interested in creating these panels of dyes pages, make sure that you begin the process early - this took awhile. We used 4 different colors of RIT dye and created varying shades of purple, red, orange, and blue. We crumpled each page individually and hot glued them to a plywood panel. *I did 2-3 dots of hot glue on the lowest points of the crumpled page.* We arranged the pages in an ombre design, making sure to vary each panel slightly. We really like the way these turned out! The crinkled paper almost looks like a rock wall with uplighting and it creates a very textured look for the room. We have also liked the freedom to rearrange the colors and change it up slightly week-to-week. Definitely one of our favorite stage designs so far!
